Dr. Robotnik / Eggman Dr. Robotnik is Sonic the hedgehog's worst enemy. He always builds evil robots that help him conquer the world but sonic is always there to stop him! 
Shadow the hedgehog Shadow is the "Ultimate Life Form" and he is as strong as sonic the hedgehog. He has the special ability to use Chaos Control and can bend time and space with it.Shadow has lost his memory and doesn't reallly know on what side he is. 
Rogue Rouge is a treasure hunter who searches for jewels. She searches the Master Emeralds because she considers them as jewsls. Altough she is with Shadow most of the time she can be also nice. Rogue also likes Knuckels.

Sonic the Hedgehog’s beautiful, fast-paced gameplay is also unique and breathed a sense of innovation at the face of gamers who were used to Mario’s slower platform antics. Sonic The Hedgehog gave kids a game that juxtaposes beautiful sceneries that attract attention with addicting, twitchy gameplay that requires them to speed past the course as best as they can. This makes the game itself have an extended replay value, as its qualities make the gamer feel like they have never had enough of a single stage.
